Metal Roofing in Atlantic Beach

Thinking about metal for your next roof? We help you compare panel styles and metals, check what your home needs underneath, and lay out the cost early, so the change happens when you choose and not after a leak forces it.

A Roof Choice Worth Making Early

A metal roof is a bigger decision than a like-for-like shingle swap. The panels, the metal and the fasteners all change how the roof performs and what it costs, and those choices are easier to make when nothing is dripping into your hallway.

That is why we like to talk with homeowners a season or two before the old roof gives out. You get time to compare options, set a budget and, if it helps, use the financing we offer. Close to the ocean, salt air is hard on bare steel, so we also explain which metals and coatings hold up best for your home before you commit.

What Your Metal Roof Project Includes

Panel style matched to your roof
We install standing seam panels, with fasteners hidden under raised seams, and 5V crimp panels, a classic Florida profile with exposed fasteners. We show you both and explain where each makes sense.
Metal and coating choices for the coast
Aluminum resists salt corrosion well, while coated steel costs less and suits homes set farther back from the water. We walk through the tradeoff honestly.
A close look at the decking
Your old shingles come off first, since that is the only way to judge the plywood below. Soft or rotted sheets are swapped out before any panels go on, and you get photos of whatever turned up.
Underlayment and flashing
A high-temperature underlayment goes down first. Valleys, walls, chimneys and pipe penetrations get flashing and boots made for metal, because that is where most metal roof leaks start.
Permit and inspections
We pull the permit and schedule the required inspections, so the finished roof meets the wind requirements in the Florida Building Code.
Cleanup every day
Metal shavings and old nails are swept and magnet-rolled from your yard and driveway before we leave each evening.

When a Metal Roof Makes Sense

  • Your shingles are wearing out

Curled edges, bare spots or grit in the gutters show shingles near the end. That's a good time to get a metal price, while there's still room to plan.

  • The same repair keeps returning

Paying to patch one spot year after year may be money better put toward a roof made to last longer.

  • You're staying put for a while

Metal generally costs more at the start than shingles but usually lasts far longer, and that gap pays off more the longer you live there.

  • Storm season makes you uneasy

Well-fastened metal panels stand up to strong wind. If you're tired of finding raised shingles after each storm, metal deserves a closer look.

  • The attic gets too hot

Lighter metal colors bounce back much of the sun's heat, which can keep the attic cooler through long summer days.

How a Metal Roof Job Runs

  1. 1

A free estimate at your home

We measure the roof, look at the slope, the vents and the attic, and talk about what matters most to you: budget, look, wind resistance or how long you plan to stay.

  2. 2

    Options on paper

You get a written estimate with each line explained, including panel type, metal, underlayment, trim and possible decking repairs. There is no obligation and no pressure to decide that day.

  3. 3

    Scheduling and permit

Once you are ready, we order panels, pull the permit and set a start date. We let you know what to move from the driveway and how the days will run.

  4. 4

    Tear-off and installation

We strip and dry in one area at a time, so any bare decking is covered with underlayment before the crew leaves for the day. Decking repairs, flashing and panels follow, with the required inspections along the way.

  5. 5

    Final walk-through

We walk the finished roof with you, point out the trim and flashing details, and hand over the paperwork from the final inspection.

What Shapes Your Metal Roof Budget

We price each metal roof from its own measurements and the choices you make, so we won't guess at a number over the phone. Knowing what drives the cost helps you plan ahead and decide where your money matters most.

Panel style
Standing seam takes more labor and custom trim than 5V crimp, so it costs more. Many homeowners still choose it for the hidden fasteners and clean lines.
Metal type and thickness
Aluminum costs more than coated steel. Thicker panels cost more than thinner ones but resist dents and flexing better.
Roof shape
Hips, valleys, dormers and skylights each need extra cutting and flashing. A simple gable roof costs less per square than a complex one.
Decking condition
We cannot see under the old roof until it comes off. Your estimate explains how any rotted decking we find will be priced, so it is not a surprise.
Tear-off and permits
Removing more than one old layer adds labor and disposal, and permit and inspection fees are part of every job.

Metal Roofing Questions We Hear Often

Something not covered here? (904) 541-9158

Will a metal roof be loud when it rains?

Not usually. With solid decking and underlayment under the panels, rain sounds much like it does on a shingle roof. The loud tin roofs people remember were often installed over open framing.

Will metal rust this close to the ocean?

Bare steel would, which is why we do not use it. Aluminum panels and properly coated steel, paired with corrosion-resistant fasteners, are made for coastal air. We help you choose based on how close you are to the water.

Is lightning more likely to hit my house if the roof is metal?

It isn't. Lightning goes for the tallest point around, and the roofing material does not change those odds. If your home ever were struck, metal won't catch fire the way wood or asphalt can.

Can you put metal right over my shingles?

We prefer a full tear-off. It lets us check and repair the decking and gives the new panels a solid base. We will explain what local code and your roof allow during the estimate.

Can I spread out the cost?

Yes, financing is available. Many homeowners start planning a year or so ahead, get their free estimate early, and then choose a payment option that fits their budget.
